Twist & Shake

Tim Lee "No Discretion" For the past twenty years or so, Tim Lee has been an integral part of the independent music scene. He initially received recognition as one half of The Windbreakers, whose catchy power pop sides are the stuff legends are made of. After that outfit ceased to be, Tim launched a solo career, and his latest effort, "No Discretion," captures him at the top of his game. Rocking guitars that crackle with excitement pervade the album and the melodies are continually fresh and vital. Tim's reedy voice, which sounds like an agreeable cross between Neil Young and Roger McGuinn, resonates with expression. He really has a flair for the style of folk pop music he plays. "Keep Me Down," "I Wanna Believe" and "Sure Bet" are select hot spots to be found on "No Discretion," but the entire record is a sheer joy. The lyrics are candid and the arrangements are thoughtful. Congratulations, Tim, for creating yet another choice collection of songs.
