No Discretion (Paisley Pop 2004)

This record was the culmination of a year and a half of recording at six studios in three states, and it involved something like 16 musicians.

Phew!

Actually, it wasn’t as stressful as it sounds. Recording No Discretion was actually a lot of fun, as it included many good friends, both old and new, including Neilson Hubbard, Bruce Watson, Con Coffey Jr., Greg Horne, Jim Rivers, Mitch Easter, John T. Baker, Todd Steed, Po Hannah, Jason White, Charles David Overton and others. Not to mention, this record marked Susan’s recording debut (she was born to do this stuff).

These 13 songs marked a departure from Under the House, ND’s predecessor, in their electric-ness. Most of these songs were played live in a band setting before being recorded (some of them were recorded pretty much live, as well, with many of the guitar solos going down with the rhythm tracks).
