My thoughts on teaching dance (continued)
Learning how to teach was part of my formative dance training at the Botsford School in Rochester, New York, under the tutelage of Enid Botsford and an illustrious dance staff including Leon Danelian, Sir Anton Dolin, Woytek Lowski, Jurgen Schneider, Maria Swaboda, Fernando Bujones, Valentina Peryslavic and Patricia Wilde amongst others.
I try to honour in my approach the many artists and teachers who’ve inspired me during my long involvement with dance. I chose to become a full-time teacher after experiencing a knee injury. During the past 12 years I’ve taught for professional companies in America and Europe. I have also taught students from the age of 10 up.
I am constantly developing my teaching sensibilities and range, including modern dance and floor barre. I offer classes suitable for the needs of today’s professionals, with the broad range of demands made on their bodies. I also offer ballet classes to adult beginners and re-starters as an effective and enjoyable workout for the mind and body.
