Classroom Policies:
- Please come prepared daily with your assigned reading material, homework, writing journal, loose
leaf paper, a pencil, and pens, and be seated by the 2nd bell.
- Homework must be turned in at the beginning of the period. PLEASE do not bring in your flash
drive and ask for permission to go and print off your homework. LATE HOMEWORK WILL NOT
BE ACCEPTED (unless you have an excused admit for your absence). If you return on the day of a
test, you will be expected to take the test that day. I will give students advanced notice on the days
they will be tested. For every day that a student has an excused admit, the student has a day to turn in
work late. This does NOT include tests or major assignments, i.e. formal papers, presentations, etc.
Students will have significant notice of test and major assignment dates. Chronic absences will
detrimentally affect a student's grade.
Students - find a friend in class with whom you can exchange contact information. Agree to take
notes for each other when you are absent. YOU are responsible for any discussion or lecture missed
while absent.
- No IPODS, MP3 players, calculators or other electronic equipment allowed in class. If these items
are used or out during class, they will be taken from you and given to the wing clerk. You will be
able to retrieve your property in the Main Office at the end of the day.
- Please keep your talking to a minimum. I can’t teach if you are talking. It is disrespectful to me and
unfair to other students.
- Please act in a kind and respectful manner towards me and your peers. Negative remarks pollute
the learning environment. This class requires students to work with others cooperatively.
- No phones allowed ON in class. This is a school rule. If I see or hear a student using a cell phone, I
am required to take it to the wing clerk. The student will need to retrieve his or her phone later from
the 500 Wing (Holly Sanders). I request that cell phones be turned off and put away prior to entering
my classroom.
- All missed tests must be made up before or after school. An excused admit is required.
- Food and candy are not allowed in my classroom.
- Students may have clear plastic water bottles in class if they are responsible with them.
